The First Presentation
The three separate and unique presentations that make up this series about the timeline concerning end time prophecy have their
foundations in the books of Revelation and Daniel. This, along with the comments of Old Testament prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah,
Ezekiel, certain of the minor prophets, and including specific statement by Jesus and the apostles, will provide a comprehensive basis of
discussion for the years immediately ahead of us.
For many, prophecy is a difficult subject to understand. The principle stress being, is this man’s opinion and ideas, or is this really the
truth of the matter?
What you read will be determinations and conclusions, based on the evidence and facts of scripture made clear by the teachings of Jesus
Christ, the prophets and the apostles.
I. The Sequence/Timeline for End Time Prophecy
To keep matters in an orderly manner, so that confusion and misunderstanding are avoided, this presentation has two parts.
The first part explains and proves that indeed there is a 6000 year plan for mankind. The important matter of by what method or standard
God uses to cause certain events to happen at the prescribed times, is thoroughly discussed. Critical dates are established and placed in
their proper place.
The second section deals in detail with the books of Revelation and Daniel. Within the primary set dates is found the timeline/sequence
for end time prophecy. This detailed study is specific and pulls in important but little known scriptures that help bring clarity and exactness
to the end time events leading to the return of Jesus with His saints.
As we progress through the book of Revelation, with the support of Daniel, a sense of appreciation and understanding will form that will
bring wonderment and excitement to end time prophecies. These things are astounding, yet comforting and most refreshing.
II. Identifying the Two Witnesses and Their Commission
One of the most misunderstood subjects of the Bible and especially end time prophecy is how to understand who, and the role of the two
witnesses of Revelation 11. Interestingly enough, scripture identifies these two men and details the times and specifics of their three and
one half year work.
Many assumptions have been made by the Church of God concerning its perceived end time role. Herbert Armstrong and others
concluded that he along with the old Worldwide Church of God fulfilled the end time commission to be a witness to the world. Worldwide’s
larger offshoot organizations now claim to carry on in the tradition of Mr. Armstrong and Worldwide.
It will be seen clearly that the final end time warning message has not yet been given by anyone individual or organization. Mankind’s final
warning message has been left for others to accomplish in the very near future. The end time remnant of God’s Church will have an
important part in this effort.
Identifying the two witnesses will provide interesting considerations for those Jews who are awaiting the Holy Messiah’s coming. The Jews
are actually looking for two deliverers. They are Messiah Ben Joseph and Messiah Ben David. The son of Joseph is considered the
physical deliverer who will die immediately preceding the coming of the son of David, the final awaited spiritual delivered of all mankind.
For our Jewish friends, Ben Joseph and Ben David will be identified.
III. The Place of Safety
The prophets and Jesus specifically spoke of a special place of protection in the end time for God’s Church. It is believed this is a special
area located someplace reasonably close to Jerusalem.
It seems that in recent years, this idea of special protection has faded and is minimized. It is now viewed as only a possibility. A common
line of thought consists of two things. First, the tribulation and captivity will not be as comprehensive as taught in the past. Next, the
likelihood will be that God will protect His people in the areas they live, or in some way provide for them in remote locations of the land.
These two theories are both wrong. Our lands will be desolate and God’s Church is going to a place of protection for 3 1/2 years and it
will be somewhere close to Jerusalem.
This presentation will examine and make clear those related scriptures which must be correctly understood if one is to prepare him/herself
for the time and events leading to physical deliverance and protection.
This is a promise. But without understanding, faith and obedience, it will not be obtained.
The Second Presentation
I. The Importance of Correctly Understanding the Difference Between the True Passover and the Lord’s Supper
(The Bread and Wine)
I know this is a subject of strong opinion, great emotion and feelings. But this vital matter must be correctly understood. The scriptures
give overwhelming evidence and proof so that we are not left thinking there must be more, or there is a benefit of the doubt to be given.
The conclusions are reasonable and logical. No word games, just plain everyday easy to understand English.
God, through Moses, said the Passover, as given and established by you (Moses), is to be forever kept in its primary form. There are to
be no changes. Jesus said He came not to change anything. That is the Law, and how one is to approach, worship and serve God.
II. Church Governance and Authority
This is a very much misunderstood subject. It has been and still is for many, the source of much confusion, upset and anger. On many
occasions, it has been used as a tool for ungodly intimidation and control. There is absolutely no scriptural basis for this type of behavior.
It happens this is how men, even good intentioned men, will sometimes do things. Abuse of authority is a natural way of man.
This is a big and involved subject but here again, it can be made easy enough to understand. The Bible gives us the foundational
knowledge necessary. We have the words and example of Christ and the apostle Paul.
When studying this subject, there is a key that must be understood. God instituted the Arronic and Levitical priesthood and everything
that pertains to it. The priesthood and the temple are gone. These two things will be restored in the new age as ruled by Christ and His
saints.
Paul said all things are to be done decently and in order. There was no structured top down authority. Jesus Christ is head of the Church,
His Church, and each individual Christian who believes and trusts Him. What was set up was a temporary system of governance and
authority, to serve the needs of the individual member and congregations until Christ’s return. This was done by selecting qualified men
and women to serve for the benefit of others
Church elders were recognized and respected men who through the years, had demonstrated wisdom, good judgment, maturity and
compassion. These individuals, as such, were selected so that the necessary godly authority and governance would be present. All this
and much more, is clearly and in detail explained.
III. Tithing, Offerings and More
Perhaps one of the most grievous stumbling blocks to be put before the believers, has been tithing. Not that it is not commanded, but
because men have totally misunderstood the tithing law and made it oppressive.
One of the main focuses of this paper is to reveal more of the thinking, nature and attitude of God and His Son. They are reasonable in
all ways; very approachable, and desire that we, as their chosen people, should develop an intimate and friendly one-on-one relationship
with them. Correctly understanding tithing, the holy days and related issues, as presented, will help bring clarity to this all important matter
of one’s relationship to God and Jesus Christ.
The Third Presentation
The End Time Churches
The third and final part of this series has to do with God’s end time Churches. Up to and through the Sardis era of God’s Church, there
was a large number of years allotted to each church, sometimes hundreds of years. Even today, certain remnant groups of the middle
age churches are to be found in parts of northern Italy.
This presentation will deal with recent end time Church history; that is, going back to the early 1930s.
The Sardis era of God’s Church and it’s most recent history, will be examined and explained. Without this background, it will be difficult, if
not impossible to lay the foundations for the Philadelphia and Laodicean Churches as they will be found in the end time.
It will be explained clearly and in detail, the nature of the Philadelphia Church and those men and women who will constitute this church.
This assembly will be protected and survive to the return of Christ. We will come to understand the specific reasons why this will be so.
The Laodicean Church is named as the last of God’s Churches in Revelation 3. This Church, because of certain flaws in character and
unwillingness to receive correction, will have to prove herself to God the hard way. At a certain period of time previous to the return of the
Messiah, a large part of this church will repent. They will receive their gift and reward, but it will require striving and suffering.
